Correlation Between Boss’ Disposition and Staff’s

Pleasant, nasty, arrogant, aloof or customer centric. How the boss acts translates directly to his or her staff. If you are the boss, you should consider how you act with whomever you come in contact with because it will be transmitted and duplicated. If you are an employee, try to emulate positive behavior and not display negative actions.

How many times has someone recommended a physician and said she is very nice and easy to talk with, but the office people are horrors. Or you patronize a restaurant and have the person with the reservation list act like they are doing you a favor seating you? Or go to a gym and are not greeted with a smile when you check-in or a nice word when you leave?

Smiles are easy to do, mean a lot and make a big difference as is being nice. In today’s social media world feedback is pretty instant and easily assessable. Negative remarks and evaluations can really affect a business’s growth. I suggest this be monitored and whatever is necessary to be done to change adverse reports and actions. It is a culture issue and the culture is set by those in charge. It is also helpful and important if the boss is a happy person.

Be in charge and act in ways where people will want to engage with you and who will feel good for doing so. It makes no sense to be recognized as someone who is great in what you do but is not pleasant to deal with.
