This Thursday, November 18, I will be presenting a program for the East Brunswick Public Library Take a Business Break series on How to Manage Unmanageable Debt from Noon to 1:00 PM. The program is Free, courtesy of the Library and Withum.
Many people are deeply in debt and feel the despair of not knowing what to do or how to get some relief and their life back on track. This program will allay some fears. Included will be handling overextended credit card debt, past-due taxes, mortgages greater than your house’s value, defaulted payment agreements and tuition loans. Strategies will include settlements for less than what is owed, stretched out payment arrangements, principal deferments , Bankruptcy chapters 7, 11 and 13, IRS offers in compromise and how taxes can be avoided or reduced on income recognition from your cancelled debt, and how your credit reports are affected and how you can resurrect your credit rating.
Fortunately, this topic no longer applies to my clients but it might apply to their, or your, children or friends, so let them know about this program or you can attend to find out how to make suggestions to help them unravel their debt situation.
Register for the program on East Brunswick Library’s website.
If you cannot attend and would like a PDF of the PowerPoint, send an email to [email protected] and just put Manage Debt as the subject. No messages necessary.
