Withum is excited to announce that Brian Bender will join the Firm as a Partner. With over 15 years of experience servicing nonprofits, Brian specializes in associations and membership organizations. He will lead market development for this sector of Withum’s Not-for-Profit practice in Washington, DC.
Having worked in public accounting as well as serving as a financial executive for large trade organizations, Brian will bring his unique perspective to assist nonprofits with complex accounting and reporting.
Brian’s expertise in the nonprofit space, community involvement and passion for helping organizations fulfill their missions make him a welcome addition to our team. He brings significant public and private experience with membership associations, advocacy agencies and various other NGOs that will help us continue to expand our expertise and service offerings to provide world-class client service and advisory solutions. We are excited to have him aboard to expand our practice in the DC metro area.

In 2019, CPA Practice Advisor named Brian as a 40 Under 40 award recipient, recognizing him for his efforts in shaping the future of the profession. Brian is a member of the AICPA, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Pennsylvania Society of Association Excellence (PASAE) and the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE). He is also a founding Board Member of Hero Dogs, a nonprofit that trains service dogs to work with US veterans and first responders.
